Darren Spencer

Darren has over 20 years of global experience in the medical device industry, involving both corporate as well as multiple MedTech start/ups in various senior roles throughout his career. Since the start at Glenfield Hospital (NHS, UK), Darren has gained in-depth experience and an MSCT, understanding and well-recognized knowledge in the world of electrophysiology and cardiology worldwide. His experience in hypertension and vascular access includes early first-in-human work, clinical affairs (CE/FDA clinical trials) and global product commercialization to acquisition. He holds 9 patents and is on the board of two MedTech companies. Additionally, he was part of multiple peer-reviewed publications

Darren originally started his career with Medtronic, being at the forefront of innovation in electrophysiology and implantable CRM devices. Thanks to his interdisciplinary experience within healthcare institutions and corporate MedTech, Darren further extended his knowledge at Endocardial Solutions (acquired St Jude Medical, $272M), Cameron Health (Subcutaneous implantable defibrillator system/S-ICD, acquired Boston Scientific $1.35B), Ablation Frontiers (acquired by Medtronic $350M), Atritech (WatchmanTM device acquired by Boston Scientific $375M) and ACT (acquired by Abbott $350M). In addition to that, Darren has served as a clinical consultant for multiple MedTech start-up companies, such as Infobionic, ROX Medical, Bardy Diagnostics, Bluegrass Vascular and BURL Concepts.
